I am a licensed math educator, former junior high teacher, and now a private tutor with a passion for helping students feel confident in math. I have a degree in Math Education and years of classroom experience, but what truly drives me is seeing the lightbulb moments when a student finally gets it. These days, I balance tutoring with life as a busy toddler mom, so I understand firsthand the importance of support, patience, and making every minute count. Whether your student is struggling or aiming to excel, I’m here to help them grow with clarity, encouragement, and customized support.
I’ve loved math—and helping others love it too—since high school. When I started at Southern Utah University, I was already focused on earning a degree in Math Education. During orientation, I connected with the head of the developmental math department, who offered me a job as both a TA and tutor. I jumped at the opportunity and spent my college years doing work I truly enjoyed: helping students build confidence and understanding in math.
I took a short break from school to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Southern California, where I discovered an even deeper love for teaching and connecting with people.
When I returned, I finished my degree in Math Education—more excited than ever to get into the classroom.
2020 was a life-changing year for me. I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Math Education, married the love of my life (shoutout to Raymond!), and started my first teaching job at Mueller Park Junior High in Bountiful, UT. I loved working with my students, but I quickly realized that many of them needed more support than a large classroom could provide.
After my oldest son was born, I stepped away from the classroom and began private tutoring. I found so much joy in working one-on-one with students and seeing their confidence grow. Since then, I’ve expanded my services to meet the real challenges students face—while balancing life as a busy mom. I truly love what I do and strive to make a meaningful difference every day.
This school year I am starting an initiative that I hope can make a difference in the community. I'm opening up Homework Hour as free walk in tutoring to any students who need it once a week. I look forward to seeing it take off!
I believe that every person has inherent worth and should be treated that way. I also believe that growth is a huge part of the purpose of life and I'm happy to play a small part in that growth for students where math is concerned.
I'm loving being a mom. My two boys make me smile every day. They teach me so much and are helping me become a better person.
I'm learning that when you get organized, you are able to do a lot more. I've gotten a lot more into list making and organizing my life lately and it's a game-changer.
I love my students and I get so excited when I can tell they are understanding what we working on. I get even more excited when we've been working on the same concept for a while and suddenly, it clicks! We are all capable of growth, and when students learn that about themselves, they can do anything!
